Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
Myrtle Beach has been my home base since 2009 and we both have family in neighboring towns so the finally couple weeks were spent spending time with them and prepping Fate for departure!
Metropolis, Illinois
Our first day on the road started off with final goodbyes and a 12 hour drive to Superman's Hometown!
There wasn't much going on in Metropolis aside from a casino (where we stayed) and this huge superman statue!
Deadwood, South Dakota
One of our favorite towns on the U.S. leg of the journey, We'd planned to spend our FIRST night in the tent here at a KOA Campground. The wise choice would've been to located our spot during the day, dinner sightseeing won out. Arriving In the dark we couldn't find our spot and there was no one to call for help so we ended up heading back to town and checking into a hotel
Livingston, Montana
Kathleen saw a plea from John Mayer asking people to visit Livingston (where he has a home) to help support the local economy which was hurting due to historic flooding in 2022 which saw Yellowstone National Park closed for 9 days.
A tranquil western town with amazing breweries and even better food and views it's definitely worth a visit.
Yellowstone, Wyoming
We only made a day trip into Yellowstone to see Old Faithful, the first named and most frequent erupting Geyser in the park!
As an added bonus we got to see several bison meandering aside the park's roads!
As with so many other places we've visted- you could easily spend days or weeks exploring Yellowstone without getting bored.
